Following the transfer of operation to the new Slow Food UK Trust on the 1st April, Slow Food UK staff have embarked on a programme of visits to local Slow Food groups (convivia). The purpose for these visits is to personally meet the people who give so much to make Slow Food a reality at a local level; answer questions about the transfer to the Trust; share and gather ideas for improving the work of Slow Food in the UK; and meet, photograph and film producers and food production around the country.
We started in June with brief visits to Waveney Valley, Herefordshire and Carmarthenshire.
At the beginning of July we spent a weekend with Slow Food Jersey.
At the end of July we visited convivia in Worcestershire, Liverpool, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Devon and Cornwall, and in September we toured round all our groups in Scotland.
